Abstract

Internationalization of companies is becoming a necessity in order toplay an active role in the market and maintain a competitive advantage. A rapidrise of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in international levelinterpreted like born global phenomenon.Born global companies operating trajectory is characterized by therapid expansion outside the country, as soon as possible after theestablishment of the company. Dynamism, orientation to technology,entrepreneurship and flexibility helps to gain a competitive advantage againsttraditional companies. Partnerships and networking becomes internationalizationaccelerators of born global companies. Accordingly decisioninternationalization of born global companies are especially relevant in today'sresearch.The article presents a framework which shows how born global companiesinternationalize their activities. The framework was approved in Lithuanianinformation technology companies. The results of the empirical researchrevealed the expression of the internationalization decisions making ofLithuanian SMEs companies. Theoretical and empirical results are beneficial forborb global SMEs seeking to internationalize their activities.
